I am looking for the true essence. Whether I work with natural persons, models, or actors, first of all I observe their movements, their body and facial language, and how they handle themselves in the environment. Then I direct, suggest, or improvise actions on the spot. In this way, I make them feel comfortable and thereby make them show facets that perhaps they did not know. That's when I try to make myself invisible with the camera. The result is that many discover spontaneous aspects of their personality that have never been captured in an image.
